What is Sexual Assault?

Sexual assault or sexual violence is any unwanted, forced, or threatening sexual act or behavior. Assault can take many forms (physical, verbal, visual, etc.) and is rooted in power and control.

Sexual assault can happen to you regardless of your gender, race, age, class, or sexual orientation. No one is entitled to another person’s body, even if the person is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  • Forced kissing
  • Groping
  • Harassment
  • Molestation
  • Incest
  • Child sexual abuse
  • Sexual exploitation
